Welcome to the fifth issue of Cré Olé (pronounced Cray Olay), the annual guide to dining & nightlife in Trinidad & Tobago. In the five years since the first issue in 2003, the magazine has grown from 52 to 84 pages, reflecting changes and improvements in the dining industry. Our island cuisine is a result of the fusion of our multi-ethnic nature, our history and the energy of our people and Cré Olé continues to successfully and proudly display this issue after issue.
.The TDC is pleased to be affiliated with this prestigious magazine – one of our more beneficial and synergistic relationships. Cré Olé’s growth has been both an essential part and a reflection of important initiatives in promoting Trinidad & Tobago, like our Taste T&T – A Festival of Flavours Like Never Before (see pages 22-23).
.We are also pleased to note Cré Olé’s coverage of the Taste of the Caribbean competition in Miami, another of the key events that will assist the TDC in its goal of developing anchor-event based culinary and cultural tourism within Trinidad & Tobago.
.The addition of the online version at Cré Olé’s website, www.cre-ole.com is yet another accomplishment to be lauded. Visit it to check out the weekly-changingPlat de la Semaine, in which chefs choose the meal they might order in their own restaurant. You can also rate restaurants at www.cre-ole.com.
Please enjoy the magazine and, more importantly, the food and drink that helps define Trinidad & Tobago as the exciting, satisfying, enthralling place it is. Bon appétit.
