| Port of Spain’s newest and most striking lounge bar fixed its focus on becoming the country’s preeminent upscale venue. Aura’s cocktails begin with fresh fruit, premium spirits and liqueurs and end with the world’s unquestioned number one vodka – Aura has the country’s only Grey Goose Bar. Aura’s range of cocktails is truly global– ask for your favourite – but definitely try the cocktail so special Aura gave its name to it; you’ll come to love strawberries. From the Watermelon Martini (watermelon chunks shaken vigorously with Grey Goose, double-strained and served straight up) to the Porn Star (passion – naturally – fruit juice shaken with vanilla Grey Goose and served with a shot of champagne), these are damned fine cocktails. But what would good drink and good company be without good food? Aura’s chef came from South Beach’s world-famous entertainment strip, bringing the best of Miami with him. His own favourites grace the Aura menu (he was that sure of his coconut Thai steamed mussels, tandoori chicken with yogurt & tamarind sauce and Asian marinated tuna) but he also added special dishes taking advantage of the best of local inputs – try his West Indies Pork Chops with Julie Mango Chutney. The classiest lounge, the finest cocktails, the most mouthwatering dishes: a place with a certain Aura. |

Aura is just pub food in a pubambience. Not fine dining, why are they even in Cre Ole?

The food was very bland and totally not expected, given the cost and ambience.
